Yogyakarta’s
Mystical Imaginary
Line, Is An imaginary straight line drawn from the southern
beach is Parang
Kusumo with Mount Merapi. This imaginary
line is famous because have a mystical story. Two locations that have particular
significance for the palace which was built based on considerations of balance and
harmony. Kraton is a balance point of fire and water. Fire is represented by
Mount Merapi, while water is represented at the most southern point, Parang Kusumo.
And the Kraton Yogyakarta is in its midpoint. Kraton and two areas it is a point
of balance between the vertical and horizontal.
Horizontal balance is
symbolized by the Southern Ocean
that reflect human relationships with humans. While Mount
Merapi symbolizes the horizontal side of the
relationship between man and God.
